POSITION SUMMARY

The Volunteer Assistant Coach for Men's Lacrosse is responsible for assisting the head Men's Lacrosse coach in implementing and directing phases of a competitive NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse program at DePauw University. Responsibilities includes assisting with practice, competition and recruiting of prospective student-athletes.

The volunteer coach works under the direct supervision of paid staff when working with student-athletes. Every volunteer will have a criminal background check done prior to them volunteering. The volunteer coach has the ability to come and go freely and not at the discretion of any member of the staff.

  • Along with the head coach, implement a comprehensive recruiting plan for the identification and recruitment of qualified student-athletes
  • As directed by the head coach, develop and implement plans and strategies for practices and competition
  • Other duties as assigned by the head Men's Lacrosse coach and/or Director of Athletics

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or GED required.  Bachelor's degree preferred.

 Experience: Collegiate playing experience in Men's Lacrosse highly desirable.

Computer Skills:  FrontRush, Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, Google Apps, other programs as determined by specific sport responsibilities

Certificates & Licenses:  A valid US driver's license is required.  Certification in first aid, CPR and AED must be current at all times.
